The agency has introduced a movement code for empty containers

THE Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has implemented a movement code to optimize the transport of empty containers to seaport terminals and alleviate traffic congestion in the Apapa and Tin Can Island port areas.
This code acts as a unique identifier from holding bays for each empty container uploaded to the Electronic Call-Up (ETO) platform.
Truck drivers must acquire this code to match their truck with a designated empty container, which aims to improve operational efficiency, eliminate multiple allocations, and ensure compliance with port access protocols.
The NPA’s initiative reinforces the electronic call-up system and facilitates better management of empty container logistics.
