Samson-Siasia.

Coach of the U-23 National Team, Samson Siasia has invited five additional players to the Dream Team VI’s training camp in a desperate bid to beef up the squad ahead of the crucial second leg of the African U-23 Championship final qualifying fixture against Congo Brazzaville.

The Siasia-led Eagles managed to beat the Congolese team led by legendary tactician, Claude LeRoy 2-1 in Port Harcourt last Sunday with the prospect of crashing out in the reverse fixture in Pointe Noire on August 2.

The invited players are overseas-based Aminu Umar and Abdullahi Shehu, Semiu Liadi of Warri Wolves FC, Ndifreke Effiong of Abia Warriors and Flying Eagles’ midfielder Kingsley Sokari.

According to former Super Eagles’ gaffer, the invited players would add bite to the team’s attack and solidify the defence, giving Nigeria a chance to survive the battle of Pointe Noire.

The home-based professionals are expected to report to camp immediately while those based overseas are expected in camp by this weekend.
