Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)The Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it collected N1.2billion as revenue in November.

Public Relations Officer of the command, Selechang Taupyen said in a press statement that the collection was higher than the N1.1 billion monthly revenue target set for it by the Customs high command.

According to him, it was the first time the command exceeded its monthly target in the past three years adding that the command will improve on its revenue collection in coming months.

Taupyen said the command also made 46 seizures in the review period with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N7 million. The seized items include: bags of rice, frozen poultry products, vegetable oil, and vehicles among others.

Taupeyen quoted the Acting Controller of the command, Deputy Comptroller Sabo Hassan as saying that since his assumption of duty in the command barely a month ago, he has vowed to work strictly in compliance with the Comptroller General of Customs policy thrust of increasing the revenue profile of the command.

The CAC solicited the cooperation of officers and men of the service as well as stakeholders in the host community to help achieve his mandate.
