FEDERAL Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the immediate removal of a transport company from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport due to allegations of illegally clamping vehicles and charging motorists N25,000 penalties.
A complaint indicated that enforcement personnel pressured drivers into making payments through personal accounts rather than official channels.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, confirmed that the issue was escalated to Managing Director Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, who ordered the ejection, emphasizing FAAN’s commitment to addressing illegal activities that inconvenience airport users.
The complaint, raised by a lawyer named Ogundele, pointed out that motorists were unfairly directed to pay fines to unsolicited accounts rather than designated ones.
FAAN has stated that the company in question lacked a current agreement and had previously been warned against such practices.
