NIGERIA Customs Service (NCS) has confiscated a shipment containing 399 fully assembled Jojef firearms and various rifle parts at the Tin Can Island Port.

Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi reported the interception of a container with concealed crates of Jojef pump-action rifles.

Additional items recovered included frames, heat shields, trigger pins, and more.

Adeniyi cautioned that criminal networks may attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in Nigeria’s borders and ports during the upcoming elections and emphasized the NCS’s commitment to enhancing surveillance and enforcement.

The seized arms will be handed over to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).
