ENTRY-level commercial pilots in Nigeria earn between N800,000 and N9 million monthly, influenced by airline, aircraft type, and pilot experience.

Capt. Zino Mario, CEO of Zino Aviation, noted significant salary variations and highlighted a lack of a standard salary structure in the aviation industry during an interview with Nairametrics.

Most, he said, earn between N1.5 million and N3.5 million, while Captains can earn from N6 million to N18 million.

Mario pointed out that high competition for experienced pilots has improved salaries, yet training costs abroad can reach $110,000, causing many to train overseas.

According to him, despite the growing aviation market and local carrier expansion, many Commercial Pilot License holders remain unemployed due to expensive type ratings required by airlines.
