Max Air refunded ₦182,099,018.88 to 956 passengers from April to June 2026, according to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director, Consumer Protection and Public Relations, announced the figure.

The NCAA acknowledged the refunds paid by Max Air but emphasized the need for faster resolution of passenger claims, aligning with the NCAA Regulations 2023. This highlights the critical nature of ticket refunds within Nigeria’s aviation consumer protection framework, especially during disruptions like cancellations or delays.

The NCAA stressed timely refunds to alleviate financial pressures on travellers, signaling a focus on efficient claims resolution rather than treating refunds merely as financial obligations.

With ₦182,099,018.88 refunded to 956 passengers, the authority underscored the financial commitments airlines face and the importance of consumer confidence.

The NCAA reaffirmed its commitment to balancing passenger rights with airline responsibilities, advocating for a transparent system for handling refund claims, thereby reinforcing consumer protection in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
