FIFA has unveiled the complete list of contenders for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Hyundai Goal of the Tournament ahead of Sunday’s (today) final between Argentina and Spain.
The latest six nominees from the quarter-finals and semi-finals complete the shortlist, with the overall winner to be decided after the World Cup final.
FIFA had on Saturday confirmed that Julian Alvarez’s extra-time strike in Argentina’s 3-1 quarter-final victory over Switzerland was voted the best goal from the quarter-finals and semi-finals after securing 37.2 per cent of the votes.
The award has been decided in phases throughout the tournament, with fans voting after the group stage, Round of 32, Round of 16, and the combined quarter-finals and semi-finals.
