Relegation threatened Port Harcourt clubs, Dolphins and Sharks, recorded vital victories in their week 28 Globacom Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) matches played on Monday respectively.

The former Nigerian premier league champions, Dolphins gave their survival bid a massive boost with a 2-0 win over struggling Bayelsa United in Port Harcourt.

A goal in each half from striker Ebitimi Agogu and substitute Wilson Andoh was all that the Dolphins needed to garner maximum points which enabled them to swim out of relegation zone for the first time since June.

In the other fixture played at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt , Sharks recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win against league champions, Kano Pillars.

Jackson Daniel’s strike in the 62nd minutes handed the relegation-haunted Blue Angels the much needed reprieve in their relegation survival quest. The triumph against struggling Masu Gida ended Sharks four match winless streak.
