Armed Robbers attacked officials and players of Giwa FC at the 9th mile corner in Enugu in the early hours of Tuesday, dispossessing them of their cash and mobile phones. According to the Jos-based club official, Sammy Adesoji, the team was travelling to Umuahia to honour their Week 21 Globacom Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie against Abia Warriors when the incident occurred.
“Our players were attacked by armed robbers at 9th mile in Enugu. We thank God no life was lost,” Adesoji said.
