OLISEH SUNDAY

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh expects a tough duel between the Super Eagles and Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Saturday’s African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Oliseh made the disclosure shortly after the team arrived at the Julius Nyerere Airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Thursday night.

An elated Oliseh, who will be managing the Eagles in his first ever competitive match since taking over from Stephen Keshi, however, assured that his team was poised to snatch victory and maximum points from the tie.

“I am delighted to be in Tanzania. The game on Saturday will be my first competitive match and as a coach you want nothing short of victory but that is not to say it will be a walk in the park since our opponents have been training together for a long time,” the former Ajax and Juventus star said.

He described the Taifa Stars as no push-over in African football, who are ready to cause upset, but assured that his team came prepared. “I expect a tough and tight game from the Tanzanians but we have to work hard as a team to maintain the tradition of Nigeria that’s why this match will be really important to us as it will determine how we move to the next step,” Oliseh said.
