Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the semi-finals of the female football event of the All Africa Games after beating Tanzania 3-0 on Wednesday.

The Chris Danjuma-led Falcons which thumped host, Congo Brazzaville 4-1 in the opening match secured the victory through a Desire Oparanozie brace and Esther Sunday strike.

In the other group A game, hosts Congo became the first team to be eliminated from the football competition following a 1-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire.

The Falcons will now play their last group game against the Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday as they aim to pick the gold medal of the women football event at the All Africa Games taking place in Brazzaville, Congo.
