TO expedite cargo inspections at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Nigeria Customs Service will introduce cargo scanners.

Deputy Comptroller Umar Madugu emphasized that non-intrusive inspection technology will enable Customs officers to perform inspections more efficiently.

This initiative aims to modernize operations, improve efficiency, and bolster border security.

Officers have undergone specialized training to interpret scanner images effectively. The assessment included recommendations for security upgrades and infrastructure improvements.

The deployment of scanners seeks to address operational bottlenecks in Nigeria’s air freight logistics market, promoting efficiency in cargo handling.
