Covalense Digital has upgraded its Csmart Satellite Solution with agentic artificial intelligence (AI), introducing tools to automate service activation, manage commercial transactions and handle operational queries for satellite communication operators and their partners. The upgrade transforms the company’s Csmart Digital BSS into Csmart Agentic BSS.

The platform is designed to give satellite partners greater control over activities including service activation, enquiries, invoicing and dispute management through an expanded self-service environment. Covalense Digital said the approach would reduce routine workloads for operators’ support and back-office teams while allowing partners to manage more operations independently.

One of the key additions is a guided service activation system that uses partner-associated inventory and validates configurations before provisioning. The company said the process is designed to identify configuration problems before activation, with support for both individual devices and batch activations, including satellite Internet of Things (IoT) deployments.

The upgraded platform also integrates AI agents into partner operations, allowing them to guide service activation, respond to queries in plain language and raise support tickets when necessary. Covalense Digital said the system can also support satellite IoT messaging through catalogue management, rating, invoicing and settlement, enabling operators and partners to package and bill such services.

Csmart Agentic BSS further supports partner onboarding, approval, billing and settlement within a single environment. Its contract-aware enquiry capability allows commercial questions to be answered using applicable contracts, service-level agreements or rate cards, including queries on overage charges, committed availability, service credits, notice periods and invoice lines.

Covalense Digital said the platform, which is aligned with the TM Forum Open Digital Architecture and uses an API-driven approach, is available through SaaS, cloud and on-premises deployment models. The company said the development reflects the growing complexity of satellite services, including low Earth orbit constellations, non-terrestrial networks and satellite IoT, and the need for greater automation across provisioning, support and monetisation.
