Zambia’s economic transformation is the focus of the exhibition by the country’s Ministry of Finance and National Planning at the ongoing 60th Zambia International Trade Fair in Ndola.
The Ministry is using the opportunity of the Fair to invite members of the public, investors, entrepreneurs, students, and cooperating partners to visit its exhibition stand to learn more about the policies, reforms, and strategic initiatives driving Zambia’s economic transformation.
Speaking at the Fair, Permanent Secretary for Planning and Administration, Ms. Prudence Kaoma said the Ministry’s participation is aimed at demonstrating how the Government is bridging markets, facilitating investment, strengthening public service delivery, and building a resilient foundation for future economic growth.
Ms. Kaoma said the exhibition provides an opportunity for citizens and stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the measures being implemented to support macroeconomic stability, attract private sector investment, and create an enabling environment for business expansion and job creation.
She explained that visitors to the Ministry’s stand will have the opportunity to learn about the economic policies and programmes that are helping restore investor confidence and positioning Zambia as a competitive investment destination within the region and beyond.
The Permanent Secretary further noted that the Ministry will showcase key reforms being coordinated to modernize public financial management systems, including initiatives aimed at improving public payment processes through the Government Service Bus and other digital transformation programmes designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.
Ms. Kaoma said the Ministry will also highlight progress being made in strengthening debt management and ensuring that public borrowing remains sustainable and supportive of long-term national development objectives.
She emphasized that sustainable debt management remains an important pillar of the Government’s broader strategy to safeguard macroeconomic stability, create fiscal space for development expenditure, and secure a stronger economic future for present and future generations.
“The Ministry of Finance & National Planning is pleased to participate in the 60th Zambia International Trade
Fair and invites all visitors to engage with our technical teams and learn more about the policies, programmes,
and reforms that are helping to build a stronger and more prosperous Zambia,” said Ms. Kaoma.
