Trading on Nigerian Stock Exchange

Trading on Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a negative note Wednesday as the All Share Index dropped by 0.23 per cent from Tuesday’s gain of 0.68 per cent  to close at 30,042.38 basis points, while market capitalization declined by N24.1 billion to close at N10.3 trillion.

Only six equities led by Paints and Coatings Manufactures Plc gained in Wednesday’s transaction with an appreciation of 4 kobo or 4.17 per cent to close at N1.00 per share, May & Baker Plc followed with a gain of 3 kobo or 2.36 per cent to close at N1.30 kobo per share, while Dangote Cement Plc continued in its gaining streak with an increase of N3.00 or 1.67 per cent to close at N183 per share.

Africa Prudential Registrars Plc also rose by 2 kobo or 0.76 per cent to close at N2.65 per share as Flourmill Plc added 10 kobo or 0.40 per cent to close at N25.41.

Conversely, Transcorp Plc led thirty seven equity losers with a loss of 24 kobo or 9.20 per cent to close at N2.37 per share followed by Oando Plc which lost 57 kobo or 5 per cent to close at N10.83 per share.

Okomu Oil Plc decreased by N1.20 or 4.99 per cent to close at N22.85 per share, while Northern Nigeria Flour Mills declined by 64 kobo or 4.99 per cent to close at N12.19.

Cadbury also lost N1.50 or 4.99 per cent of its share value to close at N28.56 per share.

In all 299.7 million shares priced at N2.55 billion were transacted in 3,556 deals.
