The Managing Director, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Engr. Jennifer Adighije, has reiterated the company’s commitment to expanding access to reliable and sustainable electricity across Nigeria, describing stable power supply as a cornerstone of economic growth, industrial development, and democratic progress.
In a goodwill message, Adighije emphasised that democracy delivers greater values when citizens and businesses have access to critical infrastructure, particularly dependable electricity that enables productivity and economic participation.
She noted that reliable power remains essential for industrial expansion, job creation, improved business performance, and stronger communities, stressing that NDPHC is focused on closing electricity access gaps and supporting Nigeria’s development aspirations.
“At NDPHC, we remain committed to delivering reliable electricity that drives industries, empowers communities, and fuels national progress,” she said.
According to Adighije, electricity should be viewed not merely as a utility service but as a strategic enabler of economic prosperity, as businesses require consistent and predictable power to operate efficiently, reduce costs, and expand sustainably.
She highlighted the company’s Eligible Customer Programme (ECP) as one of its key interventions aimed at improving electricity supply to large industrial and commercial consumers. The initiative, she explained, allows qualified customers to access reliable power directly, helping them overcome the challenges associated with grid instability.
“Our Eligible Customer Programme gives businesses reliable, predictable electricity so they can focus on scaling operations, not power outages,” Adighije stated.
She added that the programme is helping businesses reduce operational disruptions, improve productivity, and enhance competitiveness through consistent electricity supply.
The NDPHC chief executive reaffirmed the company’s resolve to support Nigeria’s economic transformation through strategic investments and power-sector interventions, noting that improved electricity access remains critical to unlocking industrial growth and strengthening the dividends of democracy.
She called for sustained collaboration between government agencies, private-sector players, and other stakeholders to build a more resilient electricity sector capable of meeting Nigeria’s growing energy needs.
Adighije further stressed that reliable electricity is a key driver of manufacturing growth, commercial expansion, and employment generation, making initiatives such as the Eligible Customer Programme vital to Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda.
According to NDPHC, businesses participating in the programme benefit from greater energy security, lower operating costs, and improved efficiency. Stable power supply, the company noted, enables firms to increase production, minimize downtime, and redirect savings toward innovation, expansion, and job creation.
The company also pointed to its Light Up Nigeria Project as another major initiative aimed at improving electricity access for productive users, strengthening industrial capacity, and supporting sustainable economic growth across the country.
