Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, is reportedly in Barcelona for talks with Lionel Messi which is expected to reunite the duo at East Manchester next season.
With continued rumours renting the air regarding Messi’s desire to dump Barcelona following a hugely underwhelming season, Manchester City has emerged as huge favorites to sign the Argentine superstar.
While Inter and Juve are hoping La Pulga can trigger the release clause in Messi’s contract which would allow him leave for free – a situation Barcelona’s legal team are fighting hard to prevent; big spenders in Manchester City and PSG can afford to pay as much as €100m.
According to El Chiringuito, Guardiola was spotted in Barcelona last night and flew in for talks with both the player and his old club.
After the initial aggression of the fax sent to the club demanding an exit, it’s reported Messi is now trying to negotiate a less aggressive exit from the club.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu however, has remained unwaveringly stiff on his position, insisting that he will not entertain any conversation that goes contrary to the club skipper’s contract extension.
