NIGERIA is actively working to connect domestic airline operators with leading global aircraft manufacturers to enhance its aviation sector. This initiative aims to facilitate partnerships that could boost local industry capabilities and improve the overall quality of air travel in the country.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, along with the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA), Capt Chris Najomo; Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku; Nigeria’s Representative on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Engr. Mahmoud Sani Ben-Tukur; and other senior government officials and industry stakeholders. visited Bombardier’s facility in Canada, emphasizing the goal of connecting Nigerian operators directly with leading manufacturers.

This visit marks the culmination of strategic engagements with major firms like Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and Bombardier, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to reposition Nigeria as Africa’s preferred aviation hub through international partnerships and sustainable reforms.

The visit also aims to support fleet renewal, improve access to aircraft financing, and enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian airlines.
