Canada’s historic run at the men’s FIFA World Cup has come to an end after a 3-0 loss to Morocco in Houston.
Coach Jesse Marsch said Les Rouges were “the better team” in the match, but just couldn’t find the answer to a trio of Moroccan goals in the second half.
Canada arguably exceeded expectations for this tournament by reaching the Round of 16, having registered several historic firsts along the way.
Morocco will now play France, who defeated Paraguay 1-0 on Saturday evening, in a quarterfinal match in Boston on July 9.
