The party in a press statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe said by their action, the lawmakers are set to implement the state government’s developmentprogrammes.
“The quick passage of the budget signifies the eagerness of both the executive and the legislature to take Lagos to the next level in 2016. It signifies a commendable meeting point for all spheres of government in Lagos to work in synergy to pursue the rapid development of the state in 2016 to reflect the programmes and manifesto of our great party, APC,” the statement read.
The party further disclosed that the expedite action of the lawmakers on the budget was an indication of their support of Ambode’s administration’s pursuit of fast development of Lagos and towards making the state better and responsive to its teeming citizens.
“Lagos APC is happy of the cordial relationship built on shared progressive belief, mutual respect and convergence of ideas between the state assembly and the executive as we believe this will work to the advantage of Lagosians in the coming years. We see the prompt passage of the budget as a means of deepening the mutual understanding between the various arms of government in Lagos towards pursuing the lofty aspiration to make Lagos to continue to excel in progress, good governance and rule of law,” the statement read.
“While we salute the state assembly, we now believe that the ball is firmly in the courts of the executive to aggressively pursue the delivery of fruits of democracy which has driven its actions since it came on board in May last year. We firmly believe we will not be disappointed as we can feel the resolve of the Ambode administration to build on the rich legacies of its predecessors to make Lagos Africa’s masterpiece and Center of Excellence.
“We will not fail to reassure Lagosians that the present government will meet all their expectations, embedded in the victory our great party recorded in the state in the last general election. With the prompt passage of the state budget, we assure them that no stone will be left unturned to make 2016 a spectacular year for all Lagosians in terms of delivery of governance dividends”, it added.
