Port Harcourt International Airport has received full certification and an operational license after complying with global safety standards established by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as reported by the Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communication.
This milestone in the airport’s 40-year history, it is said, follows significant upgrades and modernization, including essential safety equipment.
Lynda Ezike, the Airport Manager, presented the certification to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, highlighting the government’s role in the airport’s transformation.
The certification enhances the airport’s reputation, allowing more international airlines to operate, boosting investor confidence and connectivity, and positioning Rivers State as a strategic aviation hub in Nigeria.
