A former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, whose trial was slated for February 13, has been rescheduled to June 5.

The former aviation minister will be arraigned before a Federal High Court over a N5 billion fraud. The matter which was scheduled for February 13 was not listed on the cause list, The Cable reports.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission alleged that Oduah misappropriated public funds worth N5 billion while serving as a minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Oduah is presently a senator representing Anambra North senatorial zone.

The senator is standing trial alongside eight others on a 25-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, money laundering, and maintaining anonymous bank accounts with First Bank Plc.

Other defendants are Gloria Odita, Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore and Marine Ltd, Tip Top Global Resources Ltd, Crystal Television Ltd, Sobora International Ltd, and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nigeria Ltd.

The case came up for arraignment several times in 2021 but was continually stalled for several reasons.
