Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange continued on a negative note Tuesday as All Share Index dropped 0.25 per cent to close at 30,330.58 points compared with 0.59 per cent lost yesterday to close at 30,405.88 points.

Market Capitalization also lost N25.877 billion to close at N10.423 trillion compared to N62.730 billion lost yesterday to close at N10.449 trillion.

Seven of the eleven sectoral indices declined in today’s transactions. The NSE Consumer Goods Index led four sectoral gainers with a gain of 0.4 per cent to close at 784.29 points.

Cutix Plc, topped 19 equity gainers with a 4.60 per cent or 8 kobo gain to close at N1.82 per share followed by Unity Bank Plc which added 4.41 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.42 per share while Nascon Allied Industries Plc increased 3.70 per cent or 25 kobo to close at N7 per share.

Skye Bank Plc appreciated 3.60 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N2.30 per share while Costain Plc increased 3.57 per cent or 2 kobo to close at 58 kobo.

On the other hand, Seplat Petroleum Plc led 22 equity losers as it decreased 9.75 per cent or N24.36 to close at N225.54 followed by Mcnichols Plc which depreciated 4.76 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.20 per share, while Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc declined 4.71 per cent or 22 kobo to close at N4.45 per share.

Cement Company of North Nigeria Plc lost 4.70 per cent or 41 kobo to close at N8.32 per share, while Cadbury Plc dropped 4.58 per cent or N1.10 to close at N22.90 per share.

In all, investors on the floor of the Exchange today, traded a total of 300.521 million shares worth N3.048 billion in 3,112 deals compared to N419.948 million shares worth N2.090 billion in 3,056 deals exchanged yesterday.
