A review of the public spending portal, Govspend, by SaharaReporters has shown that the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, spent N54.5 million on fumigation, cleaning, and disinfection services for January and February 2025.

Records indicate that several payments were made on April 22 and April 23, 2025, to different companies for the services.

On April 22, 2025, N5.7 million was paid to Daab Pro Limited for cleaning, disinfection, and fumigation.

On the same day, N5.5 million was paid to Edamis Concept Limited for cleaning, disinfection, and fumigation services for January and February 2025.

Also on April 22, 2025, N5.087 million was paid to Emjas Allied Nigeria Limited for fumigation, disinfection, and cleaning covering the same period.

Furthermore, Hazie Plus-Projects Limited received N5.4 million on April 22, 2025, for cleaning, fumigation, and disinfection services carried out in January and February 2025.

Similarly, BTO Prestige Global Limited was paid N5.4 million on April 22, 2025.

On April 23, 2025, further payments were made. Reference Cleaning Services Limited received N5.7 million; Eppin Forest Engineering Limited was paid N5.3 million; and Trixy’s Enterprise received N5.1 million.

Other organisations paid on April 23, 2025, for cleaning, fumigation, and disinfection services for January and February 2025 include Vent Force Limited, which received N5.8 million, and Isymus Nigeria Limited, which got N5.6 million.

In total, N54.5 million was paid for fumigation, cleaning, and disinfection services for the two-month period.

In a related development, a previous SaharaReporters review of Nigeria’s 2026 approved budget showed that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation plans to spend N1.1 billion on an SGF office annex intended to serve as quarters for presidential aides.

This is in addition to N1.2 billion earmarked for the purchase of SUVs and other luxury vehicles, including Toyota SUVs, saloon cars, and double-cabin pick-up vehicles.

Additionally, a review of the public payments portal, Govspend, revealed that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, spent N9.6 million on branded towels for his birthday. The payment was made on December 21, 2023.

According to the description, the money was paid to Okwoli Aromeh “to the officer, to enable him produce souvenirs (branded towel gift items) in respect of SGF’s landmark birthday celebration in his home town.”

Okwoli, who received the funds, is listed as the Chief Administrative Officer in the office of the SGF.
