The Police on Friday apprehended Special Constabularies caught in a viral video demanding money from a Dutch woman rider in Ojongbodu, Oyo.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced the arrest of the individuals for their “unprofessional, unacceptable, and punishable acts.”
Adejobi announced that CP Adebola Ayinde Hamzat, the Commissioner of Police at Oyo State Command, has initiated a disciplinary procedure immediately.
The police authority has condemned the act and ordered the men and their Divisional Police Officer to be sanctioned accordingly.
Adejobi deemed the act unpolice-like and assured that the Nigeria Police will intensify efforts in the reorientation programme initiated by Inspector-General Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to address issues and reposition the force.
