The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, has announced the disbandment of the Special Antirobbery Squad (SARS). This was made known today through a Tweet by the Inspector General of Police.
This decision came after days of nationwide protests against SARS over allegations of brutality and extra-judicial killings against the police unit which has attracted global attention.
