FCIfeanyiUbah 1Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club, has taken delivery of six Brazilian players and two assistant coaches as part of its renewed quest to win the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Season title.

The Nnewi based side, one of the two privately owned clubs in the NPFL broke the news of the arrival of the Brazilian imports on Wednesday describing it as setting the pace for the expected influx of foreigners into the country’s elite football championship.

“The football club owned by the billionaire businessman, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has just flown in six footballers and two assistant coaches from Brazil after successful negotiations with their clubs. The players and coaches who landed Lagos, Nigeria at about 1:30pm aboard South African Airline today looked excited at the challenge ahead”, a statement posted on the club website read.

According to the statement, FC Ifeanyi Ubah Chairman, Mr Chukwuma Ubah expressed delight about the arrival of the Brazilian players/coaches, assuring its fans that the quest for title is a top priority.

“He reiterated the club’s desire to win the league this coming season and promised that the club will stop at nothing to achieving its goal.

FCIfeanyiUbah 2“Chukwuma Ubah affirmed his belief and confidence in the Brazilian players/coaches and their capacity to bring their experience to the team with a view to winning the league title for the first time and within its second attempt”, the statement read.

According to the club’s boss, “the choice of Brazilians will spur and challenge our local talents to bring out the best in them to meet international standard.

The Agent of the players, Mr. Alexander praised the club’s owner and management for their excellent vision and determination to become a premier football club not only in Nigeria, but in the whole of Africa.

Alexander further stated that FC Ifeanyi Ubah is a promising team and expressed his optimism to continue to partner positively with the club to achieve greater and lofty heights.

He assured that the players will put in their best to ensure that the club achieves its goal of winning the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, the newly arrived Brazilian players and coaches later joined the other players at the club’s camp base in Ibadan to commence preparations for the forthcoming season scheduled for kick off on February 27.
