Nigeria’s revitalized refineries have started producing over 6.76 million litres of petrol daily, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced Tuesday.
A breakdown of petrol yield from the plants indicates that Port Harcourt Refinery which re-started operation last week is producing some 4.09 million litres, while the Kaduna Refinery is contributing some 1.29 million litres.
The official NNPC statement signed by its spokesman Ohi Alegbe, further disclosed that Warri refinery which restarted operation last Sunday after a lengthy repair work since it was shut down in August 2015 now churns out about 1.38 million litres daily.
NNPC further disclosed that petrol yield from “the refineries is projected to increase to over 10m litres per day by the end of January 2016”.
