The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), yesterday, said its approvals for research grant would double in 2021, from the over 128 made in 2020.
The Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, said the announcement would be made once the Board of Trustees sanctioned the move.
He spoke while receiving a contingent of the Senior Executive Course 43, 2021 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
The TETFund boss stated that qualified institutions would draw a maximum of N50 million grant from the N7.5 billion National Research Fund (NRF).
In the 2021 budget awaiting approval, the organisation hinted that it would fund establishment of more molecular laboratories and research on gene sequencing and phytogenic medicine in addition to vaccine research and production.
