I-Train Africa has formally launched Skilled Talent Pool 2.0, a curated talent showcase designed to support faster, trustworthy hiring by employers while improving visibility for trained professionals.

The platform offered a structured alternative to open job boards, enabling employers to view verified profiles and request introductions through I-Train Africa. With the launch, organisers disclosed that partnership and hiring requests were already processed.

Also, Africa’s evolving labour market recently got a boost at a one-day Impact Gathering event organized by I-Train Africa. The event which had key stakeholders, employers alumni and ecosystem partners in attendance specifically focused on employability, workforce readiness and carrier advancement.

Dr. Aderinsola Adio-Adepoju, Founder of I-Train Africa, facilitated the Goal-Setting and Strategic Planning Session which guided participants through structured reflection and planning, helping alumni to translate acquired skills into actionable career strategies for the year ahead.

A major highlight of the gathering was the Stakeholders Engagement Session, which featured representatives from the employability and public sector ecosystem.

Famous Ogaga, Learning Science Manager and representative of CcHub, whose team supported the evaluation and refinement of I-Train Africa’s curriculum, played a role in its selection as one of the recipients of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship 2025.

On the selection process, Ogaga stated that what distinguished I-Train Africa’s Workplace Fundamental Skills (WFS) curriculum was its strong alignment with workplace realities on the continent.

According to him, “the curriculum is practical and relevant to the African context. It equips learners with what they need from the very first day of work”.

Government’s willingness to collaborate

Representing the Lagos State Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr. AbdulFatai Yakub stressed the Ministry’s interest in partnering with credible private and non-profit organisations to advance youth employability.

I-Train Africa, he said, aligns with the Ministry’s mandate. He therefore expressed government’s willingness to key into Operation Get Employed (OGE), the youth-focused employability initiative built on the WFS framework.

Employers’ opinions

The Employer Panel Session featured organisations that have previously hired talents groomed by I-Train Africa. Employers including Websitechic Digitals, Mara Cruiz Limited, and Candlelight Foundation shared insights on workforce performance and retention.

Representatives noted that alumni out-sourced from the Academy showed professionalism, adaptability, and strong workplace competence. Websitechic Digitals confirmed that two alumni employed as Project Manager and Operations Manager have remained in their roles for over a year.
