Professor Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), has urged collaboration among the African Diaspora.
He delivered a powerful speech at the Diaspora Day session of the third Intra African Trade Fair (IATF2023), emphasizing the global unity and strength of Africans.
“Our approach drew from the basic principle that we are stronger together and that no African can be dignified anywhere unless all Africans are dignified everywhere,” Prof. Oramah said.
The session’s theme underscored the significance of fostering connections and collaboration within the African Diaspora.
Prof. Oramah highlights the African Diaspora’s economic, cultural, and political importance for promoting African interests and development, making it the sixth regional economic community for Africa.
The IATF2023 Diaspora Summit theme is “Building an Economic Bridge between Africa and its Diaspora.”
The programme facilitated high-level discussions on enhancing commercial and cultural ties between Africa and its Diaspora through business and policy-focused topics.
The IATF2023 featured retail and exhibition spaces for diasporic companies and brands, showcasing their products and services to an international Afrocentric audience. Small businesses from the Diaspora were granted market-place spaces to sell their products.
