Equities transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange continued on a negative move Tuesday, December 15, as key indicators depreciated by 0.84 per cent against 0.33 per cent decline previous day.
Specifically, the NSE All Share Index lost 228.52 points to close at 26,950.76 points against 90.43 points lost in prior session to close at 27,179.28 points, while Market Capitalization declined by N78.6 billion to close at N9.266 trillion compared to N31.1 billion lost previously to close at N9.34 trillion.
Market breadth closed poorly with 14 gainers against 39 losers. Skye Bank Plc led the losers with a decline of 9.52 per cent or 14 kobo to close at N1.33 per share trailed by Transcorp Plc., which depreciated by 5.26 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N1.44 per share while E-tranzact Plc., dropped 5.00 per cent or 14 kobo to close at N2.66 per share.
Honeywell Flour Mills Plc also lost 5.00 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N1.52 kobo per share while Nig. Flour Mills Plc., fell 4.89 per cent or 44 kobo to close at N8.55 per share.
In contrast Julius Berger Plc led the gainers table with an increase of 5.00 per cent or N1.89 kobo to close at N39.70 per share followed by Learn Africa Plc, which added 4.94 per cent or 4 kobo to close at 85 kobo per share, while Unilever Plc gained 4.88 per cent or N2.05 to close at N44.05 per share.
Flour Mills Nigeria Plc appreciated 4.86 per cent or N1.02 kobo to close at N22.02 per share, while Ecobank Transnational Incorporation Plc increased by 4.65 per cent or 74 kobo to close at N16.64 per share.
In summary, investors on the Nigeria Stock Exchange traded a total of 189.3 million shares worth N3.2 billion in 3,265 deals compared with 417.8 million shares valued at N2.974 billion exchanged in 2,710 deals previously.
