Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) resumed the week on a negative note, as All Share Index decreased 0.59 per cent to close at 30,405.88 points compared with 2.01 per cent lost last Friday at 30,588.41 points.
Market Capitalization also dropped N62.730 billion to close at N10.449 trillion compared to N216.3 billion lost last Friday to close at N10.512 trillion.
Nine of the eleven sectoral indices declined in today’s transactions, while the NSE Oil/Gas Index sole gainer added 0.1 per cent or 0.31 points close at 351.83 points. The NSE Asem Index however, remained flat.
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, topped 16 equity gainers with a 4.94 per cent or 22 kobo gain to close at N4.67 per share followed by Cutix Plc which added 4.82 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N1.74 per share while Ikeja Hotel Plc increased 4.65 per cent or 16 kobo to close at N3.60 per share.
Unity Bank Plc appreciated 4.62 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.36 per share while UBA Plc increased 4.01 per cent or 17 kobo to close at N4.41per share.
On the other hand, Trans-nationwide Express Plc led 29 equity losers as it decreased 8.93 per cent or 10 kobo to close at N1.02 followed by Livestock Plc which depreciated 5.00 per cent or 9 kobo to close at N1.71 per share, while Berger Paints Plc declined 4.99 per cent or 52 kobo to close at N9.90 per share.
Aluminum Extrusion Industry Plc lost 4.93 per cent or 51 kobo to close at N9.84 per share, Portland Paints Plc also dropped 4.87 per cent or 19 kobo to close at N3.71 per share.
In all, investors on the floor of the Exchange today traded a total of N419.948 million shares worth N2.090 billion in 3,056 deals, compared with N274.96 million shares valued at N3.13 billion in 3,247 deals exchanged in previous trading session.
