The All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia State Chapter has reiterated that no delegate from the State will be left out during the upcoming National Convention of the party on March 26th. This is in reaction to attempts being made by Senator Orji Uzo Kalu to meddle with the delegates list and smuggle some names into the National Headquarters of the party.
In a Press Release signed by the Chairman APC Abia State Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu and made available to the media Thursday, 17th March, 2020, the Chairman assured that all machinery are being put in place to ensure every legitimate delegate of the party from the state participated in the Convention.
“We assure our members and stakeholders in the State not to panic over the incident as no genuine statutory delegate will be left out. It is not in the interest of any genuine member of the party to do so. Everyone is important.
“This is unfortunate, coming from a person of the stature of former Governor of the State and serving Chief Whip of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If the distinguished Senator goes through his list again, he will discover several avoidable discrepancies. For example, who is Mr. Emeka on that list”?
“More so, the distinguished Senator, as a leader, should know the right way to channel his complaints. He could have at least drawn my attention to any complaint or draw the attention of any member of the State working committee of the party. Always trying to cause disunity within the ranks of APC in Abia is not a good mark of leadership”.
“The current APC Executive in Abia State has taken cue from High Chief Ikechi Emenike’s admonition to be open, transparent and inclusive. Leaders should be unifiers. All hands must be on the deck to build and nurture an APC that can free Abia State from bad leadership and underdevelopment. It is trite that divided we fall, but united we stand. Leaders should learn to be leaders and good role models for their followers”.
“Under my watch, APC will rescue Abia State to the glory of God and benefit of mankind”, he concluded.
