Nigeria’s leading telecommunications provider, Airtel Nigeria has proved the authenticity of its Recharge & Hit A million promo, as it presented 1 million Naira to its first millionaire winner.
The prize presentation ceremony which held at Ambrose Ogidi’s office, The Etiebet House on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos, on June 25, 2015 came as a surprise to him.
The winner, Ambrose Ogidi who is a lift operator at The Etiebet House, expressed his joy over the prize saying “I was aware of the promo and participated in it, but I never thought I will win 1 million Naira from Airtel Nigeria”.
The presentation ceremony came as an utter shock to Mr. Ogidi who was busy performing his official duties, when he was greeted by TuFace Idibia, one of Airtel Nigeria’s Smart Icons. He had barely finished dealing with the shock of meeting and speaking with TuFace Idibia, when he was told he had emerged a millionaire from the Recharge & Hit A Million promo.
The elated Ambrose Ogidi said: “We always hear about different promos but I never thought I will be a winner. I am still in shock. Airtel Nigeria has touched my life and I will forever remain grateful to them”.
“I am a living testimony that the Recharge & Hit a Million promo is real. As you can see this is my office, Airtel Nigeria came to present my gift to me here. I advise all Nigerians to pick up their phones and participate in this promo that has changed my life,” Mr. Ogidi added.
Speaking on the promo, Maurice Newa, Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, explained that the promo symbolizes Airtel’s brand promise of enriching Nigerians to realize their potentials.
He said: “Everyone is a winner in the Recharge & Hit A Million promo, which is our own way of saying thank you to our customers and rewarding them for being on our network.
Airtel Recharge & Hit A Million promo which was launched June 18, 2015 will produce 60 millionaires over the next 60 days. Over the duration of the promo, the Telco will handsomely reward millions of its customers with cash prizes worth over N200 million; ranging from N1m daily prizes, N100,000 hourly prizes and N5,000 cash prizes as well as lots of free airtime and SMS.
This promo which is open to both prepaid and post-paid customers is anchored on a point-based system where customers will accumulate points to increase their chances of winning by performing any network based mobile telephony activity ranging from a recharge, voice call, data browsing session, SMS, or VAS deductions. Subscribers can always check their points and get more information by dialing *576# or by sending ‘POINTS’ to 576.
Over five lucky winners have also been rewarded with N100, 000.00 each since the commencement of the promo and more prizes are yet to be won.
