Gombe State House of Assembly passed N208.064 billion on Tuesday as the state’s budget for 2024, up by N300 million from N207.75 billion proposed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
Chief Information Officer of the House, Mr Umaru Ma’aji, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Abubakar Luggerewo, the Speaker of the House, expressed gratitude to lawmakers for their support, cooperation, and the handling of the Appropriation Bill.
The bill was passed after the House Committee on Appropriation reviewed and presented it for House adoption and passage.
Mr. Aliyu Baba-Manu, Chairman of Appropriation on the 2024 budget, stated that the budget’s focus is on completing all ongoing state projects.
Governor Yahaya presented a 2024 budget of N207.75 billion to the House for legislative consideration on December 4.
The proposed budget consists of N87.25 billion for recurrent expenditure and N120.5 billion for capital expenditure.
Governor Yahaya’s first budget in his second tenure is titled “Budget of Continuity and Consolidation.”
