The Gambia head coach, Tom Saintfiet has backed the Super Eagles to make a positive impact at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles will be looking to win a fourth AFCON title in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
Jose Peseiro’s men last won the title in South Africa in 2013.
Saintfiet, who will lead Gambia to their second appearance at the AFCON after they made their debut in 2021, has backed the Super Eagles to conquer the rest of the continent again.
”Everyone knows my passion and love for Nigerian football,” he said.
“It will be interesting to see how Nigeria will perform because for me they are one of the favourites. It’s been 11 years since (Late) Stephen Keshi won it for them.”
Nigeria will kick off their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, January 14 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, before the ultimate clash against the hosts at the same venue four days later.
They will conclude their Group C campaign against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday, January 22.
