The Federal Government is set to inaugurate a National Lassa Fever Action Committee on Tuesday, January 19 that would oversee the control of the current outbreak of Lassa fever recorded in the country. Over 129 cases of Lassa fever has been reported in Nigeria this year.
A press release, signed by Mrs Boade Akinola, Director Media and Public Relation in the Federal Ministry of Health, which quoted the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewale, said that the ministry would convene an Emergency National Council on Health meeting to discuss the on-going Lassa fever outbreak in the country.
