COVID-19 was a unique experience for many travelers during the recent lockdown across the country as commercial bus drivers operating inter-states deployed several strategies on the highways to beat task force. Avoiding the Asaba-Onitsha bridge which was completely blocked, these commercial bus and private car drivers employed the services of punt operators while on transit to cross River Niger from the end of Edo to Kogi State, even at an extra cost of N7000 per vehicle and not less than one hour to cross the river.
