It was a great shock for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Friday
evening came back from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 against Nigeria at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in
Benin City, the Edo State capital

.The three-time African Champions got on to a fine start but crumbled in the second half of the game.
The Eagles raced into a four-goal lead before the half-hour mark through a brace from Alex Iwobi
and strikes from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.

The Eagles dominated the opening minutes of the encounter and made their effort count in the fourth
minute when Iwobi fired in a tame strike from the edge of the box to give Gernot Rohr’s side the
lead.
Kei Kamara had a chance to restore parity for the Leone Stars in the 18th minute but failed to score.
Immediately after Kamara’s big miss, Nigeria doubled their advantage through Osimhen who poked
in Zaidu Sanusi’s delightful low cross in the 22nd minute.

Overall, Alex Iwobi scored twice Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze had given Nigeria a 4-0 lead,
before Kwame Quee, Al-Hadji Kamara (two goals) and Mustapha Bundu getting the goals for Sierra
Leone with the second leg taking place on Tuesday in Freetown.

Despite the unexpected draw against Sierra Leone, Nigeria is still on top of Group L with seven points,
