Former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles’ coach, John Sam Obuh has been appointed the new Technical Adviser of Kwara United Football Club.
Obuh, whose previous stint at the club in 2008/2009 season culminated in the promotion of Kwara United from the national league to the premier league is also hired to lead the Afonja Warriors back to the elite division.
The former Kwara United technical crew headed by Coach Tunde Abdulrahman was dissolved together with the management team, after their dismal performance that saw the team relegated to the National League.
According to a statement signed by Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Honorable Kale Ayo, “Obuh’s appointment has been approved by the state government, with the mandate to tinker the club back to the Premier League.”
Mr Ayo described Obuh as a qualified and highly experienced coach who is capable of bringing his experience to bear on the job.
The statement read in parts: “Obuh’s appointment has reunited him with Oladimeji, as they both worked together in 2008/2009 to lead the team from the National League to the Premier League.
“His performance with Kwara United in 2009 earned him national U-17 team coaching opportunity. He also graduated from there to coach the U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles.
The commissioner urged Obuh-led technical crew to work hard to justify the trust reposed in him by taking Kwara United to the next level.
