Medview Airline has commenced Hajj operations with the airlift of 540 pilgrims direct to Medina for the 2015 Holy pilgrimage to Mecca.
The pilgrims from Ogun State were airlifted in two jumbo aircraft- B777-200ER and B767-300ER from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja.
The operation will continue for the next two weeks for the airline to complete the airlift of over 9,000 pilgrims allocated to it by the National Hajj Commission.
Medview Airline is operating from four airports – Lagos for South West, Port Harcourt – South South, Enugu for South East states and Maiduguri for Borno state pilgrims.
Officials of the Hajj Commission for the Zone expressed satisfaction over Medview Airline preparedness for the airlift when they inspected the aircraft dedicated for the operation on Saturday.
Meanwhile Medview Airline Managing Director/Chief executive officer , Alhaji Muneer Bankole yesterday assured pilgrims of hitch-free operations .
He told pilgrims during documentation at the Hajj camp at the Murtala Muhammed Airport that they were being flown direct to Medina, saying that this remove the stress and hazard associated with road transportation from Jeddah to the Holy.
