The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has re-appointed Peter Dedevbo as Head Coach of the national under-20 Women team, the Falconets.

According a statement released by the NFF  indicated that its President, Amaju Pinnick gave the approval on Tuesday evening, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the body pending the ratification of the latter.

The appointment is based on a recommendation by the  Felix Anyansi-Agwu-led Technical and Development Committee that coach Dedevbo and his crew be given one more term following its accomplishment at last year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada where Nigeria won silver medal.

“The Peter Dedevbo-led crew did well to get the Falconets to the final of the U-20 World Cup in Canada last year. Most of his players have been snapped up by the senior team, which shows that he built a good team,” NFF stated.

Dedevbo also handled the U-17 Women National Team, Flamingos, taking the team to the quarter final stage at the World Cup finals in Trinidad and Tobago (2010) and Azerbaijan (2012). “We will give the crew all the support that is necessary to qualify the Falconets for the 2016 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Jordan, and for the team to go there and win the trophy,” it added.

Dedevbo’s assistants Toyin Ayinla, Wemimo Mathew Olanrewaju and Auwal Bashar were also returned as the Falconets begin preparation for the 2016 U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Liberia next month.
