Buhari arrived in Munich

President Muhammadu Buhari would formally present Nigeria’s list of most pressing needs   – “wish list” to the 41st meeting of Group of Seven (G-7) industrialized nations today at Bavaria, Germany.

Buhari arrived in Munich, Germany on Sunday following a special invitation from the G-7 leaders to attend the annual summit with a shopping list of areas of top priority the new administration needs urgent assistant in Nigeria.

According to a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the President, Malam Garba Shehu, security remains top on the priority list. “These development issues, many and varied as they are, touch on the economy, combating corruption, increased foreign direct investment, FDI; power and energy, infrastructure, environment, enhanced transparency in elections and good governance,” the statement read in part.

The Presidency also disclosed that President Buhari will hold meetings on the sidelines with the host, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the French President, Francois Hollande, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim.

Buhari has used every opportunity at his disposal to discuss the country’s needs with specific reference to terrorism and development needs at person-to-person meetings and phone conversations with some of these leaders ahead of the G-7 summit.
