The Katsina State Police Command on Tuesday said 329 people were arrested for allegedly violating various measures put in place by the state government to tackle insecurity in the state.
The police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, stated this during a press briefing in the state capital, Katsina.
Governor Aminu Masari had in August and September rolled out measures under the security containment order to tackle insecurity in the state.
The police spokesman, Isah, said among those arrested for violating the law, 300 had been prosecuted; 10 were awaiting trial, while 19 were under investigation.
Isah also revealed that 32 vehicles, 139 motorcycles, and 26 tricycles whose owners violated the orders, were impounded.
The police spokesman revealed that 215 jerrycans of fuel, two drums of diesel, and two jerrycans of diesel were impounded. Also recovered were 36 cows, 45 sheep and 50 goats.
Isah said security operatives in the state would not relent in their efforts to ensure total compliance with the security measures which, he said, had been effective in tackling insecurity in the state.
