Ahead of Thursday’s quarter-final clash against Cameroon at the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Falcons have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Falcons’ media team confirming their arrival on social media, stated on Twitter, “We’ve arrived safely in Casablanca in the build-up to our #WAFCON2022 quarterfinal showdown with Cameroon on Thursday, July 14.
“On arrival, we were immediately lodged at Novotel Hotel in Mohammedia.”
The nine-time champions played all their three group games at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat, where they finished second in Group C behind South Africa, who topped the group with nine maximum points.
The reigning champions however have their venue changed from Rabat to Casablanca after finishing as runners-up in Group C and battle archrivals the Indomitable Lionesses at the Stade Mohamed V, where the Cameroonians played all their three games, picking a win and two draws to finish second in Group B behind Zambia.
While the Falcons will hope to make it three wins on the bounce, following back-to-back victories over Botswana and Burundi, after a 2-1 defeat to South Africa in their opening clah, Cameroon are looking for their second win of the tournament, after defeating Tunisia 2-0 in their last group match.
The Central Africans will be wary of the Falcons’ attack that has scored the highest number of goals (seven) so far in the tournament.
