Cristiano Ronaldo has taken another swipe at the recently dismissed Rafael Benitez, claiming that his successor, Zinedine Zidane has rediscovered Real Madrid’s winning wand.
Ronaldo made his views known shortly after Real Madrid hammered Sporting Gijon five goals with himself and Kareem Benzema netting brace each while Gareth Bale completed the route.
Following the feat, the former Manchester United attacker suggested that Zidane has already made his marks on the Los Blancos after its initial stuttering campaign under Benitez. According to the Portuguese star striker, the arrival of the French gaffer has been a breath of fresh air around the Santiago Bernabeu:
“There has been a change of mood in Real Madrid, a push in the right direction. We have a better understanding with Zidane, that is football. I see a change for the better with Zidane’s arrival”, he told reporters.
“I feel a better understanding with Zizou, don’t ask me why,” he adds, comparing Zinedine Zidane’s management style to that of Carlo Ancelotti: “I see shades of Carlo in Zidane. He is a very serious person while at work, and good fun outside of it.”
