Rivers United have arrived Aba, Abia State for the CAF Confederation Cup first leg play off tie against AL Masry of Egypt slated for Sunday.
The media officer of the team, Charles Mayuku, disclosed that the Port Harcourt based team, which had its last workout at its base on Tuesday ahead of Sunday’s crucial Confederation Cup fixture, is poised to picking the vital points against its opponent.
“Rivers United arrived in Aba to continue fine-tuning preparations for the CAF Confederations Cup match. We have rallied round Aba fans through the friendly game we played with Enyimba for their support.
“AL Masry advance party made up of journalists, cameramen and some club officials are already in the country. We are expecting the entire team to land Aba soon. All arrangements for the game are in top gears,” he said.
According to reports, another advance party made up of the team coordinator, Mahmod Jaber and captain, Ahmed Mansour, have arrived the Egyptian Embassy in Abuja.
The rest of the team are expected to arrive in Abuja en route Owerri, Imo State before moving to Aba where the match will hold.
Meanwhile, Rivers United Technical Manager, Stanley Eguma, has said that the team is monitoring the previous games of their opponent to ensure that the Port Harcourt-based outfit deploys every measure to come out victorious when they meet at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba for the tie.
