Equities transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange recovered after a two day loss to close on a positive note as key indicators rose 0.74 per cent compared to 1.92 per cent lost on Wednesday.
Specifically, the NSE All Share Index gained 201.45 points to close at 27,205.95 points compared to 528.53 points lost previously to close at 27,004.50 points, while Market Capitalization gained N69.3 billion to close at N9.35 trillion compared to N181.7 billion lost previously to close at N9.28 trillion.
Market breadth likewise closed positive with 25 gainers against 11 losers.
Zenith Bank Plc topped the gainers chart with an 8.93 per cent or N1.25 gain to close at N15.25 per share followed by Eterna Plc which added 8.18 per cent or 13 kobo to close at N1.72 per share, while Cadbury Plc gained 4.98 per cent or 93 kobo to close at N19.61 per share.
Africa Prudential Plc appreciated by 4.95 per cent or 11 kobo to close at N2.33 per share while Stanbic IBTC Plc increased by 4.85 per cent or 78 kobo to close at N16.85 per share.
Conversely, topping the losers chart was Fidson Healthcare Plc with a decline of 4.83 per cent or 13 kobo to close at N2.56 per share trailed by Axamansard Insurance Plc which depreciated by 4.74 per cent or 13 kobo to close at N2.61 per share while Cutix Plc dropped 4.65 per cent or 8 kobo to close at N1.64 per share.
Livestock Plc lost 4.23 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.36 per share and Airservice Plc fell 2.1 per cent or 4 kobo to close at N1.86 per share.
In summary, investors on the Nigeria Stock Exchange traded a total of 179.1 million shares valued at N1.5 billion in 2,747 deals compared to 240.8 million shares worth N2.4 billion exchanged in 3,061 deals on Wednesday.
